Hat tip to UK Liberty over his highlighting of the case of a rejected appeal by a suspected terrorist to be allowed to study AS level human biology and chemistry. It seems as though our government is finally getting around to closing the abhorrent loop hole in our education system that allows young adults the ability to become terrorists.
Expect these subjects to be strictly off curriculum by 2010 along with P.E (encourages too much physical contact, something proven to be important in all knife crime), English (teaches you to say things that might offend another person) and Electronics/Computer science (for the obvious connections to easy routes to terrorism).
I mean...seriously? There is nothing so sacred in the teachings of the narrow curriculum in this country that cannot be learned outside of educational authority walls. What the home secretary is requesting is beyond ridiculous and in all fairness just gives the impression to me of her complete moronic nature.
Say this person is a terrorist, you think that a teacher telling them the ways of dissecting frogs and the periodic table is going to further them down that path? How about if they now have to find their information from other places, perhaps other less accountable people? Jesus, just stamp this guys head with "Terrorist" and send him in to the arms of extremists why don't you?

Schools, I’m wondering why the daily mail isn’t more afraid of them ;) Still, I like pyrotechnics club as an idea, best I had was wood working or chess. Chess is pretty likely to turn people to terrorism though I feel, just out of sheer boredom.

A quarter of a century ago, during some of the worst of the IRA campaign, my minor English public school used to offer a "Pyrotechnics Club" entirely devoted to teaching us how to blow things up. I don’t ecall anyone from the club ever opting to go to Cranfield, so I can only assume they now have a career in international terrorism...
