I shall be blogging with my review of the final two episodes of "Hugh's Chicken Run" soon, however first I wanted to break this particular issue that has near infuriated me about people featured on the show. The issue I talk about is the absolutely bollocks stance of the "poor" that they "cannot afford" to change their food shop to introduce better quality and more ethical foods. The show itself centres on free range chicken (a product in current terms £2.08 more expensive per kilo than standard), but we could be talking here about ethical foods such as fair trade coffee and banana's, or even simply better quality meat with a better slaughter that you're more likely to find at a butchers.

So another year another PMQ, this one most notable for a bizarre change in tact by the Prime Minister that really didn't come off well in my eyes. It also saw Nick Clegg give his first set of questions, but otherwise was a largely tentative and unproductive affair.

It was a night where Obama should have had a "crushing" victory, but in the end Clinton won by a comfortable yet still close 3 points. The media is now playing it's fickle game and the weakest of the journalistic tendencies this side of the pond is showing through with vast exaggerations over the life of the Obama campaign. One woman last night reported quite heavily on the "feeling" that Obama is now just fighting a lost cause, the night before she would have no doubt have been talking about the feeling of Obama being in the White House this time next year. The polls were read all wrong, too many people jumped on the large lead Obama had on Clinton without really ever letting the public know that almost a third of the voters were as yet undecided. The hype machine had built up and, as invariably happens, mistakes in interpretation were made that potentially damaged a candidates campaign through building him up too high.

But what can we learn from a little more of a factual stage of the process? There are now two polls based on the people that actually voted in each of the two states that have held Democratic events, and the rest of this post is going to go someway in to seeing if we can see if there are any emerging trends in the voting mindset of the public of America, what area's each of the main two need to make more of an impact on in South Carolina and Nevada, and what is hurting them most.

Today there was a story about advertising of "junk food" with some dappy woman on More4 news quite ideally and succinctly putting across the whole reason why such arguments are utter rubbish. She said, quite simply...

It's just not right is it?

Ok, so that may be a slight paraphrase on my behalf, but it is more or less there. This woman's whole argument came down to the point that she, and others like her, don't think it is "right" that "junk food" is advertised online to our kids or on TV at all. I think she needs to worry about the multitude of problems she probably has to contend with (as we all do, we all have problems) rather than sit around moaning about ours.
